Westhaven has the knowledge, skill and experience to install solar panels for commercial and residential jobs of all sizes. Installing a solar power system can be a lot more affordable than you might think, and today’s new solar panels can be a reliable form of power. We offer a variety of solar power installations, including:
- Solar PV Systems – Grid Tied
- Solar PV Systems – Off Grid
- Backup Generators
- Solar Thermal Systems
- Micro-Solar Farms
- Solar PV Systems – Commercial
- Micro-Hydro Systems
Solar panels come in several forms, sizes, and locations, but they all draw the free energy of the sun and transform it into usable energy within the household or business. Solar panels may be roof-mounted or installed on free-standing legs, where appropriate.
Photo voltaic (PV) panels transform radiant solar energy into electrical energy. With the use of a grid-tied inverter, that electrical energy may be used as needed within the household and the remainder sold back to the commercial energy provider who provides the electrical energy grid. Without a connection to an electrical energy grid, the photo voltaic panels may be used in a system configured to store the excess energy in on-site batteries for later use.
Solar energy is already manifested as radiant energy, but that energy can be radiantly transferred to heat water via an intermediate medium (usually water also). Solar hot water systems can also supplement a gas or electric water heater. In addition to the use of solar panels primarily for local use within the household or business (with or without the capacity for for selling excess power back to a grid provider), a potential business opportunity exists wherever sunshine is consistent year-round: the solar farm is a collection of PV panels, usually on free-standing legs, installed by design to sell all of their power to the grid provider.
