Westhaven is looking for a Designer to join a high energetic growing team. This position provides high-quality renderings and PV layout including but not limited to understanding all usage needs and data and provides accurate shade analysis. Must be self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, detail oriented and must be able to handle detailed projects independently.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The designer is responsible for preparing layout drawings for solar installations. The Solar Designers work with various departments including Project Coordination team, Permitting, Sales, and Operations.

  • Must be willing to learn quickly and adapt to the needs of the sales team.

  • Must have some foundation in math, geometry, and problem-solving in order to troubleshoot efficiently.

  • Must be detail oriented at all times.

  • Have a strong sense of accountability and ownership.

  • Create effective communication between you and the sales team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction, Architecture or design. (Seniors are strongly considered for internship programs) OR Associates degree in design related field OR 1 years of solar design experience required

  • Proficient knowledge in math, geometry, and construction

  • Proficient knowledge in residential construction documents a plus

  • Basic knowledge in drafting software like Aurora (or any other 3D rendering software) required

  • Customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals

  • Excellent computing skills, including MS and Google applications, QuickBase CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) and ETB systems

Physical requirements:

  • Sit, stand or bend for extended periods of time.

  • Be able to lift up to 30lbs.

  • Look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.

  • Repetitive use of hand and wrist using a keyboard, holding a pen/pencil and/or filing of documents.
